A stray cat

A stray cat

A stray cat decided to have kittens in our shrubs. I have no idea why she picked us because our dog hates cats. Anyway they are the cutest little fluff balls, and my kids have named them smokey and the bandit. I called animal control to see if they could come get them, and find them a home. They said no it is not an emergency. Now these stray cats have been a problem in the neighborhood for years. People chase them away, because they eat the birds, squirrels, and generally climb all over your house and cars. The family who supposedly owned said cats denies this. So now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I am severely allergic to cats, my dog severely dislikes them, but there they are innocent with no where to go. My kids love watching them play, and to avoid looking cruel, I give them some food, and fresh water everyday. My husband says they will never leave now, but the mom who I have never fed before has never left anyway. She has decided our bush is her home, and has been for a couple of years. I hope to find a solution, and a loving home before the kittens start having kittens. What should I do?

the poor little deer

I was driving to my first client's house today when I spied a most sad sight. There was a doe laying beside the road. She seemed to be laying there looking at the scenery. I noticed her little leg was laying in a crooked way. She must have been struck by a vehicle and crumpled on the side of the road.

It was all I could do not to stop. There was a woman who stopped and was walking toward the poor little deer. It tugged at my heart. Sometimes they are able to take the animals to the vet and have them treated for their injuries. A local park takes them in once they are on the mend and cares for them. I hope that this was the ending to this story. I'd rather not think of what else might have happened.

My dog Moojow

I swear the movie Marley and Me, was made for my dog. For the longest time we thought he was just the most un-trainable, and naughtiest dog ever. He is a lot better now, with lots of love, and patience. This movie really touched me because he did remind me so much of our dog. Did you see it? What did you think?

Any person who is a dog lover will desire to try and give their dog the absolute best when it comes to the food they eat. One way that they can do is that just to provide gourmet dog food.

A great site that offers not only dog tidbits but also cat specialty foods is www.cesar.com.

Gourmet foods are one way that dog owners can avoid the food recalls that have plagued the dog industry for the past several months.

If one really wishes to make sure that their dog remains safe and healthy, then they can make their own gourmet dog food. Many different websites are available that can help a person in their endeavor to keep their four-legged friend well fed with healthy food.

Moojow's Birthday Cake

My puppy turned two, yesterday. My children wanted to make him a birthday cake. I have a blog, and posted a contest, with the person who entered a dog cake recipe and chosen by my children, won a blue topaz ring. This is the cake that won, and this is my now dog enjoying it. He loved it, licked the plate clean. It was an easy recipe, and if anyone wants it, I will send it to you.

Cat in a pot

I am continuing the story of the stray kitties brought to our shrubs by the stray momma cat. They are actually starting to get used to us, even mom who has been a stray for a very long time. I am hoping within the next week, we will be able to get them to the shelter for adoption. I am hoping to get mother cat there too, but I do not think she will safely go. I am allergic to cats so her biting or scratching me is not an option, plus I do not know what she might have. I just read in the paper today that our town has canceled its contract with the county animal shelter, so I am unsure if they will even take them. Other counties have said no. I want them to go where they will be loved, and taken care of.

Anyway they kind of stay up on the porch now, and the little boy loves my cucumber pots. Here is a pic of him sleeping in it. I try to encourage them to stay out of it, but I don't want them to think I am being mean and destroy the bond we have built. They let my kids hold them, and pet them, not mom though.
